SPINAL SURGERY IS NOT ALWAYS THE BEST ANSWER

In most cases, it is best to try all other treatment options first before considering surgery. Epidural steroid shots do not offer permanent relief. Worse yet, they can speed up the progression of arthritis. Pain medications and anti-inflammatory medications are not permanent fixes, either.

If you are like most of our patients, you have tried these methods and failed. Now you are wondering what’s next? We may have the answer you are looking for.

Non-surgical spinal decompression is an FDA-cleared, safe, non-invasive treatment program.

It is beneficial for patients who suffer from herniated discs and bulging discs. It also treats degenerated discs, facet arthritis, sciatica, leg pain, and neuropathy.

Best of all, you can start to feel better in just a few visits. No downtime, no recovery time. The results are long-lasting. Most patients can reduce or eliminate pain medications and cortisone shots.

Vitality Integrative Wellness has been helping patients like you for over 18 years. Our clients successfully recover from painful and debilitating back and neck pain and no longer need drugs or surgery.

Learn more about Spinal Decompression

What Is Spinal Decompression?

During spinal decompression, you will lay on a special table. Our healthcare professional controls the device through a computer. A session consists of 15 one-minute periods of decompression with a relaxation cycle in between decompression periods for a total of 30 minutes. Nonsurgical decompression causes a vacuum-like effect which allows any leaking tissue to return to the spinal disc and increases blood circulation in the spine. Increased blood flow brings nutrients and oxygen back into the spine necessary for healing.

How do I know it will work?

Vitality Integrative Wellness has over 18 years of experience helping patients just like you. These patients suffer from many conditions ranging from simple muscle strains and back pain to more severe conditions like arthritis and degenerative disc disease. We draw from our vast base of clinical knowledge to advise you on the best course of care.

During our consultation and exam, we work on getting to the root cause of your pain. We focus on addressing the root cause rather than treating the symptoms and will develop a customized care plan to meet your specific needs. If we feel we cannot help you, we will help you find an appropriate provider who can.

What types of conditions respond to Spinal Decompression?

The purpose of a Spinal Decompression procedure is to restore the fluid to the disc. This will stop the pressure on your nerves. This stops the pain generated by the sciatic nerve.

Some common conditions that Spinal Decompression may help are:

  1. Back pain
  2. Leg pain
  3. Buttocks pain
  4. Scitica pain.
  5. Peripheral Neuropathy (numbness, tingling or burning of the legs and feet)
  6. Tennis Elbow
  7. Facet syndrome
  8. Lumbar nerve root disorder
How long until I notice results?

The simple answer is swiftly. Usually 1-2 days for minor conditions and up to 3-4 weeks for more complicated conditions. The typical patient will notice 30-50% improvement by the 4th or 5th week after the procedure. But, of course, every patient responds differently. It is difficult to determine precisely how quickly you will respond.

Is there any downtime or recovery period?

No. The entire procedure can be completed in about 30-45 minutes. After that, you will be able to walk out on your own with no assistance.

After the procedure, you may return to your regular routine with a couple of exceptions:

  1. We ask that you perform no weight-bearing exercise for 4 weeks after your procedure.
  2. Limit walking and standing to no longer than 30 minutes at a time. If you feel pain, stop whatever you are doing and rest.
Are my results permanent?

This is a highly complex question. Assuming that you do not re-injure the disc, then yes, the results are long-lasting. That being said, nothing within your body can be considered permanent. Remember, our cells are constantly growing, changing, and dying. Your body will continue to age no matter how successful Spinal Decompression is. To that extent, the joint or affected disc area will still continue to age along with every other cell in your body.

Does insurance cover this?

No. There is currently no insurance company that covers the cost of Spinal Decompression. We have many financing options available to fit almost any budget. Pricing will vary based on the severity of the condition. We will always be up front with the cost of treatment. We will share this information after an examination and we determined a care plan.
